About Jorn Micke:

Micke is ranked with Sixten Ivarsson and Bo Nordh. Had a pipe featured on the cover of the famous Iwan Ries Co. catalog (Chicago) before Sixten in the late 1960's. He had lived and worked sporadically for many years of his life on the Danish island of Bornholm off the south coast of Sweden. He lived by the beach and he loved the view of it. It gave him inspiration. Most of his low production went to Japan at very high prices. Jörn Micke was one of the best pipemakers in the world. Jörn Micke passed away in the spring of 2005.

About this beautiful Jorn Micke Pipe:

You are bidding on a very sparingly formerly enjoyed hand crafted "Freehand Dublin” shaped pipe that was carved in October of 1966. This pipe is stamped "MIKE MAKE" over "1066" over "DENMARK". This organically shaped pipe, with a beautiful multi colored horn military stem mount, pipe is strongly straight grained and gracefully shaped. 

This pipe has an amazing balance and “hand feel”. The engineering is simply perfect. Remember Micke has enjoyed the reputation as being int the elite group of the top tier pipe carvers in the world!

I have lightly but carefully, meticulously, and thoroughly cleaned, polished, sanitized, rejuvenated, and restored this gorgeous briar both inside and out. This took only a couple of minutes, as it was absolutely pristine when I received it! The hand cut  vulcanite stem is free of any tooth marks, oxidation, or scratches. (Those lines that you see on the horn ferule are simply photographic flash reflection artifacts, as the ferule is in a perfect and mint issue free condition, along with the rest of this very special pipe!) The bowl is clean, clear, and crisp. The entire pipe shines like glass. This pipe is truly ready to immediately enjoy right out of the box!

Here are the dimensions of this beautifully crafted, ultra desirable, and extremly collectible high grade early Danish hand crafted pipe: The overall length is about 6.375". The bowl height is about 1.75". The tobacco chamber is about 0.75" in diameter and tapers down the bowl's 1.45" inner depth. Capacity is about that of a solid Group 4 sized Dunhill pipe. This is a pipe that will make you feel good, not only when you use it, but also whenever you look at it sitting in your pipe rack!  This pipe is of "Best of Show" caliber, and is not to be missed! This pipe comes with the leather pipe sleeve that is pictured in the last photograph below with the pipe.

I use only the best of packaging materials. The pipes that I ship have too much time and labor lavished on their restoration and presentations as well as the many of these pipes are irreplaceable works of art. I am not going to risk damage by using lesser packing. (In my nine years of selling pipes on eBay and shipping thousands of pipes around the world, not a single pipe has been damaged!) I also try my utmost to ship your pipe the same day that I receive your payment, even if this means making a special trip to the Post Office just for you alone. The Registered parcels that ship overseas take extensive time with both the packaging and four forms of documentation that must be filled out. Unfortunately, this all has to be reflected in my shipping costs, so please bid accordingly.
