This engraving is part of a series printed for the Sporting Magazine and dated July 1st 1793.
It is one of the earlist Cricket copperplate prints as far as I know and depicts the match played between the Earl's of Winchelsea & Darnley's teams for 1000 Guineas. Although small in dimensions measuring approx 6 x 4.5 inches to the plate mark it is a very important piece of Cricketing memorabilia.
The Engraving is of the highest quality and beautifully detailed. It is a RARE original and GUARANTEED almost 215 years old.
Please note it is fairly clean without major blemishes but could be cleaned if desired.Also as can be seen the lower margin is tight.
