Jaeger-LeCoultre is clearly
one of the most important manufacturers in Swiss watch making. They
are singly responsible for scientific and manufacturing breakthroughs
that revolutionized the industry, and for designing and manufacturing
movements for the most prestigious houses in Switzerland. Even before
the company began manufacturing watches under their own name in 1929,
the horological triumphs of Antoine LeCoultre and the LeCoultre &
Co. atelier were many and varied. The company’s legacy was already
well established when the holding company of Jaeger-LeCoultre was
established in 1925 in conjunction with Edmond Jaeger. In 1929 the
company announced the smallest watch movement ever: the calibre 101
(it remains the world's smallest mechanical movement to this day).
Jaeger-LeCoultre has never been one to rest on its laurels.
The"Reverso watch"
is without a doubt the Trademark of brand- The story is that the Reverso
was created in 1931 at the request of British polo players in India
who wanted a watch that would hold up to the roughness of the sport---Today,
the Reverso idea, that you can reverse the case without removing the
watch from your wrist, constitutes half of JLC's product line. Having
another side opens all sorts of creative design opportunities, and
JLC has exploited them aggressively, with numerous Reverso models.....
The featured watch is
a Jaeger LeCoultre (JL) Reverso Squadra Chronograph GMT with an 18K
Rose Gold Case, measuring 50.5 x 35mm, on a gorgeous polished and
brushed JL 18K Rose Gold Link Bracelet with an Invisible Deployment
Clasp. One of the most incredible details of the watch is that, as
part of the Reverso Collection, it has two dials which rotate on a
roller allowing the wearer to choose the side to be worn at the time.
Both side have a very different look and feel.
In this case, one side
is the Chronograph with a White Guilloche Dial with Luminescent Black
Arabic Numerals and Minute Indications, and Gray Hour, Minute and
Seconds Hands at Center and features a large Double Date Display Window
in Black at 12 o'clock. No less amazing and complicated, is the GMT
function. In a Subdial at 6 o'clock, it simultaneously shows the 24-Hour
GMT display, adjustable at any time using the crown. On the back,
it reveals the beauty of the mechanical automatic movement with its
open worked oscillating weight. It unites elegance and sport thanks
to its automatic Manufacture-made Chronograph movement. 65-Hour
Power Reserve and Water Resistant to 50 meters. 296 parts, 28,800
vibrations per hour.
Personal Note--Wow! This
watch is incredibly beautiful! Even the bracelet alone is absolutely
gorgeous. It looks and feels like a spectacular quality piece. The
18K Rose Gold has such a rich tone and the combination of brushed
and polished links creates additional dimension. Equally as impressive
is the functionality of the Chronograph with GMT. What an elegant
and sophisticated watch!!
