Brief History
of This Clock:
The beautiful clock was presented to my father-in-law
when he retired from AT&T in 1985, hence the small plaque on
the front.
From the moment he brought it home, my mother-in-law
hated it because it didn't match her "accessories."
She had all Copper Craft decor and this was highly
polished brass. So it sat on top of their TV for a year not
even running.
It came into our possession in 1986 when they gave
it to us. It sat atop of our antique piano for 15 years
and ran perfectly until my wife tired of it in 2001.
I locked the pendulum and stored it away until this year
and
I thought if we aren't going to use then we should
sell it and let someone else enjoy it. However, before
putting it up
for auction, I started the pendulum and set the
time; it's been running perfectly and keeping the correct time
for the past 3 weeks.
As a matter of fact I leaving it running until
the auction ends - If it stops I'll post it or cancel this auction
immediately and figure out why.
Physical Condition:
I went to a web site (www.atmosclocks.com)
where they repair Atmos clocks and got an idea on how to rate
it's condition.
According to their grading system I would rate
this clock in "EXCELLENT CONDITION".
By their definition: "EXCELLENT CONDITION: Clock runs perfectly, the finish
is bright and clear with only a few
minor hairline scratches that are noticeable only
at very close inspection."
The only reason I choose this rating is because
at extremely close inspection it looks like there might be some
pinhole pitting (?)
around the beveled edges and some on the vertical
brass framing. This is so minor that I'm not sure
if it
didn't come that way from the factory, and maybe
it's suppose to be there, because it's
uniform all the way around. I really, really
can't tell since I'm not an expert, but thought I should point
it out.
The pitting is so small I can't even photograph
them - they just don't show. Sorry, but we no longer have the original box but the web site shows how to double box and pack to ship
the clock correctly, which I will follow to a tee!
Includes Original Owner's Manual in several languages.

Since I have received numerous emails from people all over the world,
I have reconsidered and decided to open this auction up to international

I was simply afraid to pack the clock for an overseas shipment knowing
that it could be a very rough ride, but I will have the clock professionally
packed if need be. Thank you for all the interest in this clock.
