For your consideration is a rare Sterling Silver Troph Cup by James Dixon & Sons Ltd. It is a simple yet elegant design accentuated by its beautifully crafted handles created by one of Sheffield, Englands finest silversmiths of the time. The stamp on the side dates this piece to 1927. This treasure measures approximately 6 inches highest point of one of the handles x 4 5/8 inches wide x 7 3/8 inches handle to handle and weighs approximately 14.6 ounces or 13.3072 Troy ounces. Condition is as follows:
Base not flat slightly bowed causing Trophy to slightly rock
Base not completely roung and has a couple of areas dented in
Handles vertically not completely straight
Handles slightly dented in
Handles not the same height one is higher than the other
Five dents that one can also see from the inside that measure approximately four 1/4 inch long one 1/2 inch long
These do not detract from the overall aesthetics of the piece and are mentioned for accuracy. I believe these conditions can be repaired by a Silversmith bringing this part of history back to its original beauty and elegance.
