Report itemJan Miner aka "Madge" 1917 ~ 2004 Miss. Miner was a TV icon to generations of viewers as Madge, the wisecracking manicurist for Palmolive Dishwashing Detergent and played this role for 27 years,becoming one of the longest ongoing product endorsement relationships in TV history. Her trademark line "You're soaking in it," became one of the most famous and most parodied of all television quotes. She made the Palmolive commercials in French, German, Danish and Italian. Miss. Miner was also a well known ebullient actress of the New York stage, particularly well-regarded for her Shakespearean work ~and~ is well remembered on film as Lenny Bruce's mother, "Sally Marr," in the motion picture "LENNY" ~ 1974.
