"Janis" is a lovingly constructed documentary by Howard Alk, celebrating the life and times of heroine of rock 'n' roll, Janis Joplin.

These original film ads are from actual showings on or around their initial theatrical release.  The ads have been recovered from publications of the era and preserved as archival documents representing influential film styles and directors of popular, foreign, art house, and cult cinema. None of these display advertisements are reproduced, photocopied, or re-created in any way.  All are 100% genuine, taken from the original source and presented exactly as they were seen at the time they came into public view.  Original ads of this kind were almost never preserved and are incredibly rare.
