Japanese Geisha Maiko SHIRO-NURI Pro Sponge Puff & Dish

This absorbent sponge puff and plastic dish are for mixing and applying the 'Kabuki Oshiroi' Shiro-Nuri (Doran) face paint as used by Geiko and Kabuki Actors. The #60 Itahake brush is recommended for mixing and actually painting on the Doran but this pad is used to remove excess water and to smooth it over prior to applying the 'Konan Oshiroi' Face Powder. These are the exact items used by the Maiko and Geisha of Gion to apply their Shiro-Nuri makeup. We get them from a supplier in heart of the Gion Kobu 'Hanamachi' District that has a long history of supplying makeup to the Maiko and Geiko of Gion and to Kabuki Actors from the Minamiza. Note that you need 'Kabuki Abura' as an undercoat for the Doran and 'Kabuki Oshiroi' Powder over that... • MADE IN JAPAN.
