11pc. VINTAGE LUSTERWARE SET!!!!
Made in JAPAN, this stunning, VINTAGE LUSTERWEAR SET is made up of 11 PIECES, INCLUDING:
5 - LARGER, 7.25" DIAMETER PLATES
5 - MATCHING 5 & 3/8" SAUCERS
1 DELICATE CUP..3.5" in diameter and a bit over 2" tall
Ten of the pieces are in EXCELLENT CONDITION, with NO damage, however there is 1 chip, on one larger plate, that is on the BOTTOM, inner rim (portion the plate "sits" on). This is totally UNSEEN unless turned over and felt for. There is a tiny bit of normal age wear to the painted scene, here and there, showing that the plates were used, but NOTHING that one would find displeasing. It is amazing that these delicate porcelain pieces with their shimmering, luster rims and charming painted scenes are in such GREAT condition! And it is so very unusual to find such a LARGE SET!
**NOTE: The smudges seen on each piece are actually remnants of the ORIGINAL SALES TAGS. I did not soak these, preferring to leave that to the new owner. Please note that this is NOT damage, only paper stickiness. *
These will come to you exactly as seen in the photos, with the black rings separating the glossy white glaze of the inner dish, from the sparking, golden luster bands at the edges. The artwork features a blue and yellow house with two large oak trees, pink bushes, green bushes, and two huge flowers in red and blue. Simply a gorgeous set, perfect to add to a collection, or to start a new one! Also would make a fantastic child's dinnerware set...if you dare, or a darling table display!
All pieces are marked with "MADE IN JAPAN", in a red ink stamp. These are obviously hand-painted and were made between the 1920's and early 1930's.
