The Hannya mask, with its horns and sharp fangs, is probably the best known of all Noh masks. This character was once a beautiful woman who fell in love with a priest. Her unrequited love causes her to turn into a monster who expresses the fury of a woman overwhelmed by jealousy and anger.

Our little Hannya was intended for the wall, rather than to be worn as a true mask. These are common in Japan where people believe the image of a scary monster will drive evil spirits from their home... sort of a good luck mask. It is especially well carved, as you can easily see. The artist’s signature is on the back of the left ear.

l  By default method, we will only ship via the most reliable and safest method – EMS. In some cases where the buyer is willing to take the risks of other cheaper alternative methods and willing to be patient and assume full responsibility in cases of accidents and lost packages, we will consent to do shipping via other methods like SAL, SEA or Airmail if requested directly (proper feedback is needed to be eligible), but we will not accept nor assume any responsibility if the item/s gets lost and damaged in transit with these other-than-EMS methods. We strongly discourage other shipping methods due to high risks of poor handling and lost shipments since they do not have real-time traceable information compared to EMS.

l  The costs provided below include a small portion allotted for professional proper handling and packaging of the items. l  To assure our buyers that we try to make the S&H costs as low as possible, we will automatically issue refund for the excess shipping if there is a considerable big discrepancy between the actual shipping and handling costs versus the actual amount paid and received by us.

l  Although we strongly discourage this but we can declare items as a gift and low values if you request us directly (add as a message or note to seller when you pay via paypal). However we will not be responsible for the total amount in cases where the item/s becomes lost or damaged along the way. Logically, the value declared is the maximum possible compensation value that the insurance can pay. Please think about it carefully. If you do not want to take risks and want full-coverage in case of accidents or missing items, we strongly advice full value declaration (total amount paid) which we will do by default.

l  We will ship ONLY TO PAYPAL REGISTERED ADDRESSES, that means we will not accept shipping requests to other places other than the one registered in the paypal transaction/details page. COMPARISON OF SERVICES AVAILABLE FOR YOUR INFORMATION:

EMS (Express Mail Service) is the fastest shipping method available through the post office. Delivery takes only 3-4 days from Japan to most major countries. It is the most expensive method aside from FEDEX, but you can track the package and can be almost 99.9% assured of its safety. (Your tracking number will be sent to you via Paypal when we register it there.) Insurance is also provided up to 20,000 yen basically. It is cheaper than Federal Express. SAL (Surface Air Lift). SAL packages are loaded on the airplane only if there's room after all the priority air mail parcels are loaded. Therefore, it is slower and cheaper than priority air mail, but faster than surface (boat) mail. Delivery takes about 2-3 weeks from Japan to most countries. If your country does not accept SAL packages, then we ship by surface mail. Countries like South Korea, Taiwan, and most Central American and African countries do not accept SAL.

SEA (Surface via SHIP). While delivery takes 1 to 3 months, the rates are reasonable. It takes about 1-2 months to get North America regularly. The weight limit is 20-30 kgs depending on countries but the size limit is very tight. Quite risky due to long transit time and packages which are fragile are subject to internal damages sometimes due to vibration. If used for non-fragile items, it is very cost effective if you are not in hurry and willing to take a risk.

Please let us know the shipping method you like when you win or purchase an item. Please refer to the table below to compare each service. We strongly recommend you the insured shipping like EMS. EMS is the fastest and most reasonable shipping, has built-in insurance up to 20,000 yen (additional insurance can be purchased at $0.5 per additional 20,000 yen coverage) and can be tracked online. l  By default, we do not allow nor recommend combined shipments for large items or dolls which are already obvious too big to be combined. However, in various cases where it seems safely possible, we might allow in such situations but to make sure that it is possible, please kindly message or contact us prior to bidding or with enough time for us to consider your request. This is because we want to assure the safety of your items as our top priority above anything else. When you inquire, please send us the link or Ebay Item number of the items you wish to ask to be combined to make it for us to make a quick estimate.

l  We can not combine the dolls with the other items we are offering in other categories in our store due to the separate locations of our warehouses for these items. Dolls will be combined with dolls only. Shipping and handling costs shall be separated in such cases.

l  The default payment method is PAYPAL and payments must be made within 7 days. We will send the invoice as soon as the listing ends, please kindly wait for it before paying to avoid any mistakes. However, if you plan to bid or buy more items within 1 week, we must be notified via email or thru ebay so that we can put hold order on your items and ship them all together. If you do not pay within 1 week, we will file a complaint dispute with Ebay and report your ID accordingly to receive back our listing and final value fees paid to Ebay.
