HOT WATER HEATING

This tub can be heated in many ways including Chofu heaters (these products can be found in our EBay store).   These Chofu heaters are tradional Japaneese water boilers that run off either wood, gas, or propane.  Solar heating is also a popular means to heat the tubs.   Most domestic hold hot water tanks can also be used to fill the tubs. Unlike traditional spas, it needs no chemical to treat the water.  When finished soaking, you can simple drain the water into a lake or garden with out ever harming the environment.   The thick wood walls allow the tub to retain the heat almost 2 times better than a regular tub.

COLD WATER PLUNGE POOLS

TOur Ofuro tubs are also very popular with sauna bathers as a means to quickly cool the body durring sauna sessions.  By adding cold water instead of hot, bathers can experience the benifits of quick body temperature variation.  This technique has been used by Europeans  especially the Finnish for thousands of years.  This form of therapy is also used by pysicians for rapidly healing sports muscle injuries. 

The 1 1/2" thick cedar wood provides a natural insulating value that cannot be found in regular plastic or acrylic bathtubs. The extra depth, length and width allow 2 people to enjoy a soak in a completely natural relaxed position.   Also inluded is a cedar back recliner.

The stainless steel drain system is connected to a standard 1 1/2" PVC pipe which can be addapted to a garden hose or extended to a secondary drain.  Alternatively, you can drain the tub directly beside it without worrying about killing plant life, as there is no need for chlorination.
