Introduced in March 1972 the Mk I did not get a good reception. Early faults with oil pressure and leaks together with rusting and bad paintwork hastened an improved Mk 2 version in August 1973. The Lotus 907 engine had new bearings and seals and there were various body work alterations.By the end of 1974 the Chrysler gearbox was changed for the five-speed Getrag unit. In 1975 the GT fixed-head variant was introduced. The receivers were called in in 1975 and production ceased in May 1976.
