********** Welcome to Judy's Little Cherubs Reborn Nursery. I established my nursery nearly five years ago. Prior to that I made and sold porcelain dolls for more than twenty years. My love of dolls, especially baby dolls, goes back much farther than that. I have always been in awe of the beauty and innocence of the very young child and strive to capture that in my dolls. I belong to several reborn forums and try to keep abreast of the very latest in techniques and materials. I invest a great deal of time and love into each and every one of my reborns and will not present a doll that I would not be proud to own myself. ********** I have provided many large pictures and try to showcase my dolls as accurately as posible. ~The reborn process~
Each baby begins by being disassembled and all factory paint removed.(This step is not needed when a kit is used.)The vinyl parts are washed to remove all traces of chemicals and impurities. Baby's skin tone is developed using very sheer washes of non-toxic permanent paints. Evey sweet baby fat place and crease is detailed and blushed. High quality eyes replace the original dolly eyes. Tiny finger and toe nails are detailed for maximum realism. Hair is either a high quality English mohair wig or micro-rooted angora mohair. Baby is then assembled using a custom made soft body. Then a wardrobe is sellected for each individual baby. I especially enjoy designing and making babies ensemble myself. If I choose to use baby clothes they are always new and perfectly suited to the baby.

~Baby's Hair~
I have rooted Alyssa's little head with light brown premium mohair. I used a very fine needle to root just 1-2 hairs at a time. She has such a sweet newborn look. Her hair is secured on the inside with a waterproof glue. It can be brushed straight or dampened and finger curled for a different look. I have given her a slight ''Kewpie'' curl on top of her head.
~Baby's compexion~
Alyssa's newborn skin-tone was achieved using new permanent paints specially formulated just for vinyl. Her complexion is made up of sheer washes using several different shades to attain the most realistic newborn look. She has subtle undertones and tiny veins and capillaries in appropriate places. Every tiny fold and fat place has been detailed and highlighted.
~Baby's eyes~
Alyssa's little tightly shut eyes are framed with delicately painted brows. I have rooted her lashes with the same mohair that I used for her hair. She has very fine veins and a slight moist look on her eyelids.

~Baby's Body~
I have given Alyssa a disc-jointed body made of soft pink fabric. She has been weighted in her head and limbs with contained glass micro-beads. Her body is weighted with a mix of glass beads and poly pellets and filled out with super-soft polyfill. Little Alyssa is so soft and cuddly...she just melts in your arms. She is so easy to place in realistic baby positions.
~Additional Details~
Alyssa's mouth has been realistically tinted and sealed to give a wet look. Her nose has not been opened but was tinted to give the illusion of depth. Her tiny nails have been lightly tinted, tipped and sealed. I have given her a magnetic pacifier. Use caution around pacemakers and electronic equipment. I will remove the magnets at the buyer's request.
