KARL KURZ ORNATE 19th C. GERMAN SILVER NEOCLASSICAL BOX

A Neoclassical design with repousse leaves & flowers. It is finished on all sides & the bottom. Absolutely superb workmanship. I'm not sure of its original use, possibly a table snuff box.

It measures about 3 3/4" (9.5 cm.) x 2" (5 cm.) x 1" (2.5 cm.) & weighs about 140 grams.

It is in excellent condition with no dents, gouges, or bends. There may have been a repair to the hinge but if so it is very well done. It has no monogram. It is perfect for gift giving. Bid now! You are not spending, you are investing.

It has two Hallmarks & maker's initials "K.K.". This box was made in Hanau, Germany by Karl Kurz Silberwarenfabrik, Kesselstadt late 19th century .
