During the mid-20th Century, Kaywoodie was king of the pipe world. Its pipes were among the best made and top sellers of the day. President Gerald Ford preferred Kaywoodie pipes because the were excellent American-made briars. Kaywoodie owned the best stock of premium briar in the world. This is a Kaywoodie Super Model No. 51S - Large Billiard Saddlebit. It was made sometime between 1930 and the mid-1950s as Kaywoodie, purchased by S. M. Frank, began shifting the Kaywoodie stamping on the shank from below to above the model name. Its four-hole drinkless mechanism of the period has been clipped. The pipe has been smoked and it restored well. I don't smoke dirty pipes, therefore I don't sell dirty pipes. This one has been cleaned, sanitized and is ready to smoke. I use nothing but non-toxic, biodegradable products in restoring pipes. The extra half century of aging of the briar in this pipe should lend itself well to a pleasant smoke.
The pipe is 5-1/2 inches long. The inside diameter of the bowl is 13/16 of an inch. The height of the bowl is 1-3/4 inches.
