Places – giving in alphabetical order each place in the Riding, with particulars of its position, railway and postal facilities, area and population figures, names of the principal landowners. The names and addresses of the principal private residents in that place, and the names and addresses of all those engaged in any profession or trade in that place, together with telephone numbers.

Private Residents – listing the principal private residents for the Riding, arranged alphabetically, with their addresses and telephone numbers.

Trades Directory – shows the names and addresses of all those in the Riding engaged in any profession or trade, arranged alphabetically under the various trade headings.

Information is also given to the County Council, Magistrates, Petty Sessional Divisions, Rural Districts, Wapentakes and County Court Districts, the Dioceses of Ripon & Wakefield, Parliamentary Representation, Military, Hunting, Fairs and Markets, County Constabulary, a list of the Principal Seats, and other general information relating to the Riding.

There is also an article on the geology of the riding with a sketch map showing the various strata.
