Two of Sir Walter Scott's Waverly novels in this volume, Kenilworth about an intrigue during Queen Elizabeth's reign & with her presence in the pages, 409 pages & glossary. The binding is burgundy cloth with a raised art nouveau design and gilt lettering, about 8" tall.
In good condition for its antique age, the wear is: Pages yellowed. Front board loose, the spine showing at front page opening. Slight fading to outer spine. Wear to top & bottom of binding spine. The color in the photograph is more red than the book is - a more burgundy or plum color like this type.
