This auction is for a hand carved wooden sculpture of a Komodo Dragon. Each is skillfully crafted by Balinese master woodcarvers, and hand carved from a solid block of tropical suar wood. the statues measure about 10 inches in length. The skill of the Balinese woodcarvers is evident in these magnificent sculptures. Hundreds of tiny scales have been carved into the wood, giving these statues a very reptilian texture. Please click on one of the close-up pictures to see the incredible detail.

Komodo Dragons are the world's largest living lizards. They inhabit only a few small islands in the South Pacific. Komodos can reach sizes of over 10 feet long, and weigh over 300 lbs!

These statues are made of suar wood, a sustainable tropical hardwood. Suar wood is renowned for woodcarving due to its rich color, fine grain, and superior resistance to cracking. Please click a few of the pictures to see the full sized images.

NOTE: I have several of these to sell, and I am using the same pictures for each auction to save time. So the one you get may not be one of the exact ones shown. (The pictures shown are of several separate pieces, so you can see a variety of what is available.) Each piece is hand carved, and therefore unique. I have provided pictures of several of them, so you can see how they differ slightly in appearance, but how they all are very similar. Some curve to the left, and some to the right. They all come from the same carvers guild, so the one you get will be of equal quality to what you see here. I will never intentionally send a sub-quality piece. ITEM CONDITION: These statues are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks in the wood. They are a beautiful testament to the skill of the Balinese woodcarvers. Please look closely at the pictures, I have tried to photograph the statue accurately.

Payment Details

I accept Paypal, money orders, and checks. (Paypal preferred, money order is second choice.) Instant payments by Paypal or money order are processed immediately upon receipt. Paypal e-checks are processed after the payment clears, usually about 3 to 5 days. Personal checks (U.S. only) are also accepted, but take about 10 days to clear before item will be shipped. Please make payments within 7 days of auction close, or at least contact me. If I do not hear from you within 10 days, the transaction will be considered null and void, and the item may be relisted or sold to the next highest bidder. Shipping Details

Most items ship within 3 to 5 business days after payment clears. All items are packed with great care, and insurance is included in the shipping price. I use Fedex Home Delivery for the vast majority of shipments. In most cases, they will leave the package at your door. If you do NOT want the package left at your door, you must inform me when you send payment! I can arrange for "signature required" delivery for an additional $2 charge. Shipping is to U.S. destinations only. I do not ship to Canada. I am sometimes asked to make special delivery arrangements: please understand that any procedure outside of my established routine may may result in a delay.
