In the Kuna native language "Dulegaya"  Mola means blouse or clothing.

Mola panels are normally made in pairs.  The Kuna people believe

that everything in the Universe comes in pairs, but like man & women, each is dissimilar.

When presented together on a pair or on a blouse, two molas should portrait the same subject,

look very much alike, but may be dissimilar only on small details of the designs and colors;

they should always harmonize with each other.
