Originally purchased new in 1982, this piano is stunning. Please pay close attention to the detailed pictures as the condition shows the piano was very well maintained. Piano is recently out of a private estate and is in immaculate condition. I have taken many pictures to show the very fine condition this piano arrives in. This piano comes from a private home and shows very little wear, just what you would be looking for in an instrument as this one. All hammers and felts are like new with barely any hammer impressions evidence of the limited amount of wear. We received this piano about 2 weeks ago and I was immediately impressed by it's fine original condition. I did decide to replace the strings since the originals were just a little bit passed the point where I would feel comfortable in sending the piano out. As you may or maynot know copper wound bass strings tend to turn brown with age and in replacing them we were able to really give the piano a good cleaning as well replace the felts. now this piano is as good as new. Expect the piano to hold a tune as good as a new one! Another benefit of the new strings is a great bass as the copper wound strings really project like they are supposed to. As far as the other aspects of this piano the soundboard is devoid of any cracks and guaranteed to arrive that way, again, hammers and felts are in pristine condition as this piano has had very little play. The extra $5000 the original owner paid for this finish was so that the piano would match their decor as it was just a piece of furniture. The best way to find a used piano! In playing this piano I can tell you it sounds great! Pay close attention to the video it shows in detail the condition of every aspect of this piano. Strings were installed by our in house Steinway techinican, Sal who spent 30 years at Steinway in Long Island New York mastering all aspects of piano building. Rest assured string installation is professional and you would be hard pressed to find anyone who would be able to match the quality of his work. All the coils are tightly wound and high off the plate just like you would expect to see from the factory!
