Description
SHATTERED UNION by 2K Games for the PC presents players with an interesting possible future in which they struggle to take control of a shattered US. A historical strategy game, SHATTERED UNION is unlike other games in the genre in that it doesn’t take hours to master; instead, it’s easy to pick up but, naturally, is not easy to conquer. The game presents players with a possible future in which the US, due to a dividing election and Russian sabotage, collapsed. In its place, states band together into six different regions that struggle for control, and then the European Union decides to step in, adding even more chaos to the smoking remains of the country. Players take control of one of the six factions and begin rebuilding the US by using the equipment their faction has at its disposal. Each faction has its own unique special units and weapons, but which special abilities players can get depends on their actions. The political reputation aspect of SHATTERED UNION changes if players use excessive violence. Obliterate entire cities just to take out a few enemies, for example, will have the world calling the player a tyrant. The upside to this is that players get access to more destructive evil items like nuclear missions. On the other hand, players with a good reputation receive the ability to heal units and other abilities. SHATTERED UNION’s unique and interesting storyline and easy to learn gameplay make it a great game for any strategy fan.
