Their message fueled an entire generation's conscience and fired its passions while inspiring a legion of fellow troubadours including Peter, Paul & Mary, The Brothers Four, The Chad Mitchell Trio and The Limeliters.

The Kingston Trio – The Capitol Years features 107 tracks that built their legend: their biggest hit Tom Dooley, a 19th century lament about a mountaineer named Tom Dula wrongly-hanged for a murder he did not commit; Grammy-winner M.T.A. about a man doomed to "ride forever 'neath the streets of Boston" because he cannot afford the extra fare to exit the subway ("Did he ever return?/No, he never returned!"); the raucous The Tijuana Jail, censored in both San Diego and Mexico; Rod McKuen's Ally Ally Oxen Free which juxtaposes the words of a children's nursery rhyme with a strong environmental warning; as well as folk standards including Where Have All The Flowers Gone?, This Land Is Your Land and Scarlet Ribbons (For Her Hair) and many more in a collector's dream set to honor their musical legacy. In addition, you’ll find more than thirty previously unreleased tracks, rare “live” recordings, radio spots and performances by spin-off groups as well.
