"Knight" Original Color Lithograph signed Marjorie Tomchuk
Offered for sale is this original colored lithograph titled "Knight" by the well listed contemporary artist Marjorie Tomchuk. The print shows a knight in armor on horseback. The lithograph is in grays on a red and gold background, and is designed to look somewhat reminiscent of a rubbing of a medieval tomb relief. The print is signed by the artist in the lower right. The title "Knight" and "Artist's Proof" are also in the artist's hand. The image size is 19 3/4" high by 15 1/2" wide by sight. The print is luxuriously framed under glass in a green and gold textured frame with a double matting. The frame size is 30 3/4" high by 26 1/4" wide. Condition:
The print and the frame are in excellent condition. No damage or wear. |
| Marjorie Tomchuk: A contemporary printmaker, Marjorie Tomchuk was born in Canada but has resided in the United States since
1953. She studied art at the University of Michigan, earning both a BA
and an MA. She then taught art in Tokyo and studied woodblock printing
techniques there at Sophia University, under Toshi Yoshida. In 1965, the
artist moved to New York where she both worked and studied at the Pratt
Graphics Center. Since 1970, Marjorie Tomchuk has worked from her studio
in New Canaan, Connecticut. | | Examples of Marjorie Tomchuk's embossed works on paper are
today included in the following major collections; The Smithsonian Institution,
Washington DC, the Library of Congress, the Nelson Gallery, Kansas City,
the Butler Institute of American Art, the Denver Art Museum and the National
Air and Space Museum. Corporate collections include IBM, Xerox, Monsanto,
General Electric and the Hewlett-Packard Company. |
