This is a lot of 6 Knitking magazines from a smoke-free home. They are the issues mar/apr '75, Vol 11 No 6 from sep/oct '75,Vol 12 No 1 from nov/dec '75, Vol 12 No 4 from may/june '76. Vol 13 No1 from 1976, and Vol 15 No 1 from 1979. Knitking was the premier machine knitting magazine in the U.S. at the time these were published and has up-to-date fashions of the time. With their fitted shaping and bold colors many of these patterns are the "retro" look today. There are many techniques to be learned in these magazines as Knitking was always one to publish patterns that brought out the different patterning techniques of the machines. Although these magazines were published for the Knitking and Brother machines, the patterns can be used with any standard gauge knitting machine. Also, the diagrams could be used with patterning devices to use them on other gauges of machine. The very best in finishing and detailing were used in these patterns as they were always striving to show machine knitting at its best. There are many patterns here for the entire family, gifts, and home decor. It is refreshing to go back to some of these patterns that feature hand manipulated effects instead of just automatic machine stitches. The crochet-look featured in one of them is particularly interesting. There is minor wear damage on the covers, but these magazines are in other wise excellent condition with no rips, tears, or marked-up pages.
