Kodak AERO-Ektar 7" (178mm) f/2.5 large format lens. Serial # EE13370. Made in U.S.A. by Eastman Kodak Co in 1944. The Aero-Ektars are special lenses for aerial photography. Most were made for War World II. For their time, the Aero-Ektars were very advanced technology with a new optical design and use of the latest optical cement, coatings and high-tech optical radioactive glass. This lens will cover 4x5" with some movements. Lens doesn't have shutter and has to be use with 4x5 Speed or Pecemaker Graphic cameras with rear focal plane shutter. Also could be re-mounted to use with other Large, Medium or 35mm cameras. Manual aperture "click" stops are f/2.5 - f/16. Filter diameter is about 110mm. Lens is 120mm or 4.5" long. Weight is 5lb. Lens is in Ex or 8.5 of 10 cosmetic condition. No dents or dings. Clean glass, with some coating/cleaning marks. Slightly "browish" glass. Clean aperture blades. Original metal front cap.
