Here
are some quotes from people that purchased this DVD/CD set
I
received the discs tonight, watched them, and they are Great! Thanks so much
for the memories. Even though I didn't arrive in Thailand until '71, not a lot had changed.
It is truly a wonderful effort on your part to turn out something to give us
all a piece of what it was really like.
Steve
Received
the DVD today, and it is fantastic! You did a great job on this,
couldn't stop watching it. It brought back some old memories, although
I was not at Korat, but up north at NKP in '74. It made me wish that I
had a movie camera then, plus I wish I had taken better care of what pictures
I did have. Thanks again for a great trip! Roy
Fes, Thank God for guys like you who
are keeping the memories alive. The memory kind of slips as we get older and
its really great that someone like you came along to refresh those memories.
I really hope others will get this because anyone who was there should have
one. I'm going to contact my old buddies and let them know about it. Good
Luck and as Bob Hope used to say. Thanks for the memories. Steve
I'm very
happy with the DVD because it showed my favorite airplane (F-105) and the
base of korat. My dad was a crew chief in Korat in 64,65 , He had 381 and
417. I'm going to purchase your DVD for my brothers. Your DVD was
absolutely top of the line, or sierra hotel for us military types. Fes, thank you so much for your service to my
beloved AMERICA. Best regards
Fred.
Received DVD today and
I have been glued to it ever since!!!!!
What a fantastic
effort on your part!! The similarities are amazing between Korat and U-Tapao!
I didn't recognize any of the USAF guys but recognized a couple of the bar
girls. I'm sure they migrated around to all the bases. I recognized some of
the Bangkok scenes as well and
the Lowry AFB ones also. Everyone who was stationed in Thailand should have this DVD
and would deeply enjoy it!! I enjoyed your Bunker Hill re-union and the
Lowry clips as well. We were such KIDS then and 40 years has turned us into
Old Guys!!! Great job!!!!
Thanks a million and
very best wishes
Dick Martin

I got the DVD/CD set yesterday and spent most of the afternoon and
evening looking at every photo and every movie. It was a great trip down memory
lane and will watch it many, many more times. I was surprised to see one of my
squadron's F-105G's (MD tail code 265) in the photos on the CD. I loved seeing what the base looked
like several years before I got there but they must have built a new BX by April
of 72. I was only there 3 months on TDY and we were housed in the same two story
barracks that you appeared to be in.
I've not seen a commercial movie or photos of any type that captures the feeling
of what it was like over there. It seems like the personal photos and movies
from guys like yourself do it the best.
It was great to see some Lowry AFB pics and movies too. That's where I
spent 6 months in tech school. I was an imagery interpretation specialist and
since I was married at the time I lived off base for most of my schooling in
Aurora on Xenia street, just a few blocks north of the base. One of the guys I
lived with in those old WWI barracks for the first few weeks on base was a bomb
load specialist from Louisiana.
THE PRODUCT:
This
is a collection of movies and slides taken by me while stationed in Korat,
Thailand in 1966-67 as
an Airman First Class in the US Air Force. During that time I was on a
munitions load team, loading weapons on the F105 Thunderchief.
I
was an avid photographer, in both Super 8 MM movie and 35 MM still
photography. During a military reunion I showed my old films and photos
and received many requests for a copy. That gave me the idea to make
this available on eBay to share with you.
If
you were at any base in Thailand
during the war I promise you this will bring back a flood of memories.
If you were not there but know someone who was, family or friend, buy this
for them. They will thank you for it. If you just want to see
some history through the eyes of a vet that was there, buy this.
In
addition, there is a section on Lowry AFB in Denver,
Colorado taken in 1964. Includes
movies and slide shows of Airmen at training school. The Beatles had
just come to America
then and there are funny photos of guys wearing Beatle wigs, making fun of
their long hair. Little did we know that long hair was going to rule
for years. See history in the making.
THE DETAILS:
The
original Super 8 MM film has been digitally scanned, frame-by-frame and
converted to DVD. There is no flicker or hot spot such as found when
old film is just video taped off a projected movie.
There
are some flight-line shots but the vast majority of the work concentrates on
life around the base and off-base, including the wild night life, nudge-nudge
say no more.
The
movie is in color but many of the still photos are monochrome. The
slides were shot in color. All photos were shot with a Pentax Spotmatic
35 MM camera, except the Lowry photographs.
FREE!
You also receive, at no cost, a CD of photos in .jpg format and some audio files. The
audio is of the house girls, inside the Airman’s Club, and inside a bar with
the live band. These clips are only a few minutes long but it sure hits
home. You will love to hear those sounds again. The CD has no
movies because the movie files are too big to fit on a CD.
Your
name will be printed on the face of the DVD, like this: “Created for (your
name)”. I'll use the shipping name unless you specify otherwise.
If you email me a .jpg picture of you in uniform or any photo you like, I'll
put that picture on the face of the DVD at no charge. I don’t change
“Robert” to “Bob” etc. so be sure to tell me how to print the name, unless
the shipping name is exactly what you want. I read the comments area of your PayPal
payment so that is a good place indicate your preferences. The DVD is rated PG and the CD is PG-13.
I
do not provide narration during the movies. You see it just as I saw
it. Let your mind do what my mind did when I shot it, just look and
wonder. There is background music but if it does not fit your taste
just hit the mute button.
Instant payment is required via PayPal. I think you will be
satisfied but if the product does not meet your expectations you are not
stuck. I will give you full refund with a simple email from you
requesting a refund. If, for any reason, the DVD does not work, or you
receive it damaged, I will replace it upon request on good faith and I pay
the postage for the replacement.
Why do I require instant payment? First of all, I can truly say no one has ever refused to pay and I have never had a refund request. BUT - I have had slow payers and that kills me because I can not print the DVD/CD until I receive payment which messes up my work flow. I can not print the DVD/CD until I know what name you want printed on them which I get from the notes on the PayPal statement.
I ship within hours when possible but never more than one business day from the time I see your order.
You will receive instant positive feedback from me as soon as I process your order.
International buyers:
I charge the $5.00 postage for international because
I have to use a heavy duty shipping package, drive to the Post Office round
trip, fill out international paperwork, stand in line and just generally spend
more time and money for international shipping.
Compare
this to domestic shipping where I simply put postage on it then drop it
in my mailbox at home and you can understand the $5.00 S&H for
international.
ATTENTION eBay - Please do not
remove this listing because you think this is illegal software. I have
full world copyrights to all contents! I own all the original material,
including the Super 8 MM film, slides and negatives that were used to produce
this. The DVD contains no photographic work from anyone but me. Original
material is available for viewing at anytime if anyone wants to check. I
am the full owner of all the copyrighted images and footage.
