The Happy Day - written by Ruth Krauss and illustrated by Marc Simont, copyright 1949 Harpers, this is the 1963 printing.  Pictorial hardcover binding with a color dust jacket.  Winner of the 1950 Caldecott Honor Award as one of the best illustrated children's books of 1949!

Nice story about how the animals in the forest react to the first flower of Spring.  Marc Simont won the Caldecott Gold Medal for his artwork on "A Tree is Nice"!

This book is in Near Fine condition with no writing inside.  The dust jacket is in Very Good-Fine condition, clean & bright.  See photos below for the dust jacket, title page, copyright page and 3 interior illustrations.  Buyer to pay $3.50 for Media Mail or $8.00 for Priority Mail shipping.
