This handmade and handcrafted pendant of Kwan Yin in sterling silver have a full base sterling silver backing. The pendant comes with a 16" (40.64 cm) sterling silver chain.

Kwan Yin "Born of the Lotus" is also spelled as Quan Yin, Kuan Yin, Guanyin, and in Sanskrit, her name is Padma-pâni, or Kwan Yin. Kwan Yin is also associated with Goddess Tara in the Tibetan Buddhist tradition.

Kwan Yin is the ancient Goddess of Compassion and Mercy. She was believed to be originally male until the early part of the 12th century, and has evolved since that time from her prototype, Avalokiteshvara, "the merciful lord of utter enlightment," an Indian bodhisattva who chose to remain on earth to bring relief to the suffering rather than enjoy for himself the ecstasies of Nirvana.

Kwan Yin is a shortened form of Kwan Shih Yin that means "One Who Sees and Hears the Cries of the World". It also signifies that she always observes, pays attention to sounds, and who hears prayers".

Wearing Kwan Yin reminds us to mirror her qualities of calm, compassion, strength and beauty.
