Fabulous Pattern for Asian fabric - Kyoto Lights
In an exotic place where the sun and moon rise up over the mountain, Lights dance on the river. Blossoms float on the breeze and come to rest in the currents. Reflected in the river, the mists, the clouds, are the Lights of Kyoto.
Simple shapes - squares, rectangles and triangles, are all you need to create these wonderful fabric lanterns, which appear to twinkle with the right fabric choices. Possibilities are endless - large scale fabrics, yukata fabrics, the same in all lanterns, different in each lantern.
Fabric guidance is provided in the pattern, as well as instructions for a 60" x 64" quilt, a larger 92" x 100" quilt, or a 22" x 72" table runner.

I have been designing quilt patterns since 2002. My designs are characterized by ease of construction, the use of large pieces of fabric, and the use of a large-scale fabric. My trademark design element is the diagonal line, which makes all my designs dynamic, interesting, and somewhat different from traditional quilt patterns. Although I do make use of computer tools in the process, I start all my designs with pencil sketches in my notebook, which is a notebook of gridded graph paper. If it can be drawn on graph paper, it can easily be sewn into a quilt!
Since 2002, I have designed and written over 30 different quilt pattern titles, of which nearly 60,000 copies have been sold. I've also designed original quilts for many fabric companies. Please note that all my patterns are copyrighted material and may not be reproduced, whether for profit or not, without my written permission. |
