Kyoto Maiko Okobo / Koppori Geta Red Velvet Straps 24cm

These are the real thing - made famous by the Maiko or Apprentice Geisha of Kyoto's Hanamachi Districts. They are beautifully hand-made of solid, blond Kiri-Wood with real 'Nozaki-Hyou' tops and the finest red velvet 'Hana' straps. Red is the traditional colour for Okobo. They measure 9½" (24 cm) long and the heel is about 3" (7 cm) high. NOTE: They are not sold by size and there is no 'Left' or 'Right'. They should be switched often to avoid uneven wear. Ideally, your heel should overhang the back by about ¾" (2 cm) but an 'exact fit' is not considered important for Japanese Geta. Beautifully Hand Made in Kyoto. Excellent quality.
