The Cold War Air Museum is a non-profit flying museum located in Lancaster, TX. Proceeds from the sale of this patch will go into the museum's general fund which supports the restoration of Cold War Era helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft.
This patch is a replication of the Bulgarian VVS patch for the 12th UAB (training air base) at Kamenets near Levski Bulgaria.
This is a high-quality 3.5 x 3.5" patch with standard (non-velcro) backing. All parts of the patch are stitched excepting the solid blue portion of the background.
This patch is worn by museum's pilots who fly the L-39 Albatros jets. The museum has three flying L-39ZAs and one L-39C which is being restored to flying condition.
Russian text on the patch says "AVIO BAZA LANCASTER" - "AIR BASE LANCASTER".
Please note that your purchase of the patch does not count as a tax-deductable contribution under IRS rules.
