Compare jeans you have now with jeans you want to buy. Here's how:

THE WAIST: Lay the jeans FLAT. Measure across the waist. Double that measurement (i.e. 15in x 2 = 30in WAIST). Compare that to the WAIST SIZE of the jeans you want to buy.

THE HIPS: Lay the jeans flat. Measure across the top of the back (rear) pockets. Double that measurement (i.e. 18in x 2 = 36in HIPS). Compare that HIPS SIZE with the jeans you want to buy.

THE INSEAM: Measure along the inside of the leg seam top (where the stitching starts to run the other way) to the bottom of the cuff. Compare that INSEAM measurement with the jeans you want to buy.

THE RISE: Measure from the top (above the button, up by the belt loops) to the top of the inseam (crotch). Compare that RISE with the jeans you want to buy. The RISE is shorter for LOW RISE jeans.

THE LEG OPENING: Measure across the cuff. Compare that LEG OPENING with jeans you want to buy. Generally this determines the desired ankle/cuff style. i.e. Flared, bootcut, straight etc.

With these measurements you should be able to compare your great fitting jeans with the jeans you are going to buy. Remember the more spandex means a tighter more form fitting jean. Less spandex for the looser fit.
