This costume jewelry is in very good condition, all light blue rhinestones are prong set and firm. The gold vermeil is in decent shape and all pieces are clearly marked on the back. A little history on this wonderful costume jewelry company: Barclay started their business after WWII in 1946 in Providence Rhode Island. There were three founders: Alvin Rice, Robert Rice ,and Louis Mark. This is not to be confused with McCelland Barclay. Barclay costume jewelry was marked from 1948 on. The jewelry was mostly sold through Marshall Field. It is now a very collectible item since the quality is quite good and the rhinestones were always prong set. The style is timeless and can easily be worn today. The pair of clip earrings measures 7/8" across; the bracelet measures 7” in length; the choker-style necklace measures 16” in length, and the clover-leaf pin is approximately 2” in diameter. Good luck and happy bidding! |
