This listing is for an ex U.S. Air Force altimeter made by L.S.I. in the 1980's I think. Hard to tell age on these, only can go via Serial# and my lists are far from complete. It is a 0-50k foot model, with long knob and glow dial,( non-radioactive, they appear tanned in photos, glow bright orange under ultraviolet, as it should, as ultraviolet was used in cockpit lighting, harder to see from ground and other aircraft). I have spent considerable time with this one in my Hyper-baric chamber, and it is accurate. Nice lense and dial. Serial# 1817 0n back tag, as well as the "TSO C-10b". Green sticker on top is from"Pee-cola",(Pensacola air rework center) and staes dial is"radiation free" and done in 2nd quater of 1985.Great example of a miltary type aircraft altimeter, fully functional.Very accurate, but not certified for aircraft use, not checked for sealed case.My yellow calibration sticker easily removed if so desired. Standard 2 3/4" dial, 3 1/8" mounting pattern.Be sure to check out my ebay store for MANY MORE aircraft altimeters. This instrument has been ultrasonically cleaned, then sparingly lubricated with moebious clock oil to provide many years of trouble free service in weather predicting aboard your vessel. Finally it has been precision calibrated in my IDEAL-AEROSMITH calibration chamber to provide complete accuracy.Check out the calibration report for assurance of accuracy. ![]() |
