Native to Brazil, this species is great for those who love large flowering orchids. It bears two to four large bronze and purple flowers in the summer. There’s some color variation but all the ones I’ve seen have an interesting “checkerboard” pattern on the sepals---one that can be seen with light behind the flower. The flowers are beautiful and they’re fragrant, too! This flower photo is from another tenebrosa...this cross should be especially good since the pod parent is so nice.

The picture on the left is an example of the blooms. The plant pictured (in my hand) is the plant on auction - it is a SEEDLING in a 3" pot.

Payment
We prefer PayPal for auction payments (use email address billn@bresnan.net). We also accept money orders and cashiers checks. Payment is due no later than 7 days after the end of the auction. We will  hold plants for a limited time if you are bidding on multiple items - please let us know! Plants are shipped only on Monday and Tuesday (after receipt of payment) via USPS Priority Mail with delivery confirmation. Remember, Priority Mail is not “guaranteed” to arrive at a specific time, and insuring the package will get the postage amount back but the plants themselves cannot be insured. We do not ship to Hawaii [SORRY] and ship bareroot plants only to Puerto Rico. We do not ship outside the U.S.

Shipping
$10.00 plus $3.00 for each additional plant unless otherwise stated in the auction. Our plants are packaged with great care, but postal delays and conditions beyond our control means we cannot guarantee safe arrival of plants. We’ll do our best! IS IT COLD??? [October - May] We’re in MONTANA and it gets cold here! If it’s cold where you are, or anywhere in between us, we highly recommend including heat packs (60 hour) which are available for $2.50 each as an insurance item. These help when it gets below 40F degrees. Please contact us before paying if you’re in question about the heat packs!!! If temperatures are extremely cold, we’ll delay shipping.
