| This specimen of a Lake Superior Banded Agate was collected off the shore line of Lake Superior,Cedar Bay,Keweenaw county,Michigan.It is 1 1/4" x 11/16" x 3/4" and weights in at 12.8 grams.There are areas of Copper and Cuprite in the bands.In the central part of the Agate there are some strange looking moss type growth,almost like flames,and the orange-ish color is from Chalcotrichite.It has been polished on the face of the stone and the outer skin has been weathered away by the action of the Lake ,exposing the different layers of the banding.You do not get to see that effect , that much .Buyer pays all shipping by zip or postal codes and insurance if requested.Thanks for looking and look at our store for other mineral specimens and more. |
