According to the Internet Movie Database The Survivors was the first mini-series on network television.

Lana Turner was one of the biggest stars in Hollywood in the 1940s and early 1950s. She has 60 acting credits 1937 - 1991. She died in 1995.

If you're doing a mini-series about rich society people it's good to have professional playboy George Hamilton around. Hamilton has 107 acting credits 1952 - 2008. Early in his career he was in some respectable dramatic movies like The Victors and Two Weeks In Another Town but a few mediocre, silly movies in the mid 1960s killed off any more attempts at a serious dramatic movie career. He was still charming and debonair however and could be counted on to add some glitzy polish to mini-series like this one.

All of the photographs I'm listing are original glossy prints issued by the movie or television studios. They are not modern day copies. The photos come from the estate of Nicola Buzzo in Bluefield, West Virginia. Mr. Buzzo was a photographer and engraver and worked for the local newspaper in Bluefield. He died at age 93 in 2005. He saved 7,000 to 8,000 publicity photos 1950s - 1980s that he used in his work. Many of these photos have the studio information paper sheet (snipe) still attached or typed information on the back. Some of them have a sticker attached to the back marking them for use by the Bluefield newspaper compositing room to prepare the photo for publication.
