large antique French BRONZE clock w. two ladies ca 1860
This large & impressive clock is made in france around 1850.
two fine detailed green color patina bronze figurines are representing the allegories of study and music.
the allegory of study is holding a book and a pen. the allegory of music is holding a lyre.
bronze group is on black marble base with gilt bronze ornaments.
all is in very good condition due to the age.
enamel dial with roman numerals is protected by ORIGINAL glass DOOR. Dial signed: savoyen a chambery
At the back of the movement is ALSO A glass door.
movement in working condition IS CHImING at the 1/1 and 1/2 hours on a silvered bronze bell.
movement stamped as shown.
serial number 989. Key & pendulum with matching number is included.
