This window display is one of the CIRCUS items I’ll list as I continue to sell my collection. Many of them were formerly owned by a clown who traveled with several circuses in the 1930’s and 1940’s. The first image was shot without camera flash to accurately show the beautiful colors. The other pictures were illuminated with flash to show the details of the poster.
This 28” X 42” VINTAGE, ORIGINAL and COLORFUL offering features the “WALTER L. MAIN 3 RING TRAINED WILD ANIMAL SHOWS”. “The Magnificent Specimens of Ferocious Bengal Tigers” portion of the poster is supported by images of 6 tigers, under the control of a petite female tamer. The piece was produced by the Milwaukee Riverside Print Co., Chicago and carries ID number 2503. I’ve taken close-up pictures of tears and abrasions. The date of the poster can most likely be determined by referring to one of the many reference books available. Discerning collectors know the rarity for this offering.
