LARGE VERMONT Autumn LANDSCAPE OIL Painting

This is an exceptionally interesting and beautiful Vermont landscape oil, painted on canvas. This very large painting (30" X 24") features a background of beautiful mountains in the autumn ... with beautiful vibrant jewel toned colors. In the foreground is a scenic overlook with a picnic table and prominently feature perched on the picnic table is a gnome, complete with red pointed hat and green overalls! This is a wonderful winsome touch to this beautiful landscape painting!   This is a magnificent image, with brilliant use of light and shadow and beautiful jeweled tones of color. It is unsigned but there was a note on the back saying it was painted by Vermont artist Charles Rak (shown in the 4th photo). We have looked at several of Rak's paintings on websites and this was unquestionably painted by this talented Vermont artist, whose bio appears below.

About the artist: Charles "Chuck" Rak is a very prolific Vermont artist who grew up in Newton, Massachusetts and summered on Cape Cod. His artistic talent was evident as a child and he studied with Henri Brenou, the very prolific listed Cape Cod artist.   Rak (pronounced "Rock") has worked as an artist for his entire adult life and is well known for drawing caricatures, although plein air painting is his favorite style. Rak had his own studio and gallery in Brattleboro, Vermont for many years.

Dimensions It measure 30" X 24" and is unframed

Condition Good estate condition. No damage to the painting, no paint loss, no inpainting.  It is unframed. All our items are used or antique and, as such, have the normal amount of wear and tear that's commensurate with their age.

Provenance This beautiful piece comes from a prestigious estate auction in Long Island's Hamptons, home to America's wealthiest families for generations.

You will receive more than one email both from eBay and from Lennon Hall Antiques. The most important email will be your eBay invoice and you can click through on that to pay for your item. We reserve the right to void the auction if we don't receive payment in 10 days.

SHIPPING DETAILS

Once you pay for your item it will be packed for shipping. The method of shipping depends on the size of your purchase. Most things are crated or boxed by our PROFESSIONAL SHIPPER. You will receive an email from us or from iship.com with a tracking number. Small items are sent via USPS Priority Mail and should arrive in a few days. We have just started using Greyhound to save you money. Please note that if we do use Greyhound it can save you up to 50% of the cost of UPS, FedEx or our blanket wrap trucker. However, you have to pick up your items at the Greyhound depot. Most times the money saved makes this worth it. Alternatives are: medium size pieces (small pieces of furniture, etc.) going by UPS; these items are generally custom boxed and typically arrive within a few days to a week. Large pieces of furniture are custom crated and shipped by our trucker, Arrow Express. Once the trucker picks up your item from us, it normally takes two to three weeks to arrive. However, many things can impact the time of a truck shipment so it can take as long as eight weeks, depending on your location.

About Shipping Costs: We are working very hard to keep shipping costs down and because both USPS and UPS have raised their rates and the trucker is charging a surcharge, we have recently started using Greyhound to help reduce the shipping prices you pay. This does necessitate your picking up the item on your end at the Greyhound station - we hope the money saved compensates for the time involved in doing this. WE ALWAYS COMBINE SHIPPING TO DISCOUNT MULTIPLE PURCHASES BUT THEY MAY NOT BE ABLE TO BE BOXED TOGETHER. PLEASE KEEP THIS IN MIND.

About LOCAL (NY tri-state area) shipments: We always welcome pick ups and never charge for this service. Also, we have a local delivery service that can deliver up to five items for the same price, anywhere within the NY tri-state area. If you are local, please ask for a price quote for this very affordable service.

INSURANCE

We always include insurance in your shipping price. Antiques and vintage items are vulnerable to any aggressive handling so it's important they always be insured when shipping. We value our products and are as upset as you are if anything gets damaged! In the unlikely event that your item does get damaged in shipment, it is always fully insured and we will work with you every step of the way to recover this insurance. Please let us know immediately if an item is damaged in shipment and please make sure to retain all your packing material.

INTERNATIONAL BIDDERS

If you are an international bidder, please email for rates outside the U.S. Please note that international shipments can easily get lost or stolen so insurance is a MUST for international shipments.
