This very fine doll features a beautifully handcarved and handpainted painted gofun face. As with the kimekomi style, this doll's body is made from compressed kiri woodchip covered with silk fabric. The hands are painted wood and the hair is made of natural fibre.
This doll is in excellent condition. It represents one of the three footmen from the Heian Court (c1000AD) and is part of the Hina Matsuri Dolls Festival collection.
