In this auction, I am listing a beautiful pastel wine stem made by L.C. Tiffany. The stem stands just over 5 & 1/4" tall and is just over 4" wide at the top. The bottom is properly signed in a counter clockwise direction around the pontil and reads " L.C.T. Favrile 4447." The signature is faint, and very hard to photograph, but I can try again if someone needs a picture. I guarantee the authenticity of this piece. See my feedback and bid with confidence.
The colors on this piece are hard to describe, and even harder to photograph. I picked this stem out of a batch of over a half dozen, and took the pick of the litter. This one, and it's twin that brought 4 times my opening bad at auction in TX., have a higher quality of onion skin finish, and iridescent colors. Almost all Tiffany has that nice purple iridescent finish, as does this piece. Depending on how the light hits it, this piece also has a wonderful warm blue iridescence on the inside.
The stem has one tiny pin head size bruise that can be seen in the marked picture. It is about the size of a tiny air bubble, but is a bruise, not a bubble. You can not feel the bruise with your finger nail, nor does it go through to the interior. I spoke to a glass repairman who said it can easily be fixed. Basically the bruise is as small and minor as they come. This has been stored inside a cabinet of a smoke free house, and I have no clue where the bruise came from. I'm not out to deceive anybody and chose to sell this as is so you can see the tiny bruise. I know how fussy we glass collectors can be. Condition is otherwise excellent.
