You are bidding on a vintage L.E. Smith 4401A Crystal Frosted Bird in Flight (Thrush). Manufactured from 1947-1980 by the L.E. Smith Glass Co (Mount Pleasant, PA), this large figurine stands 9" high, 6" long and is in excellent condition. This piece is formed from a crystal frosted art glass from a K.R. Haley mold. It portrays a Thrush in flight. The crystal and crystal frosted pieces were first produced in 1947. They became so popular (33 year production run) that Smith introduced them in various colors over the years. This gorgeous piece exemplifies the craftsmanship sought after in quality, vintage American mid-century art glass and it would be a welcome addition to any serious art glass collection.
