Simpson and Andre worked and studied together in New York City. We recently sold a great etching of Andre by Simpson. Obviously from the Simpson estate. Signed and dated inside the mask, with a label adhered to the back of the mask reading "This life mask of Maxwell Simpson made by Renee Andre in her studio in New York. Carved into the interior of the mask it reads "Life mask of M S Simpson by Renee Andre 1930."
