Here is a collection of 180 space covers with Orbit cachets, one of the more attractive cachet makers for space covers. The lot includes both the “engraved” cachets as well as the beautiful color cachets. They commemorate Mercury, Gemini, Apollo (except Apollo 8), Skylab, Apollo-Soyuz, and the first couple of flights of the Space Shuttle. There are also several first day covers. Most of the covers are the standard size, but a few are the #10 size with dual cachets. There are also a couple of special cancelled items (see last photo below). Most of these covers are in prime condition and there are no duplicates (although I may have a machine cancel and a hand cancel of the same event with the same cachet). The lot contains several hard-to-find covers. In addition, a couple of the cover albums are included. This auction is a wonderful grouping of covers covering the entire early manned space program. Please see the photographs below and email me with any questions. Low opening bid, priced to sell.
Shipping for this lot is FREE—I repeat--FREE in the continental United States. Payment can be check, money order or Paypal (preferred)—checks must clear before shipping. Payment is due within seven days of auction’s end, in this case by May 17, 2008 . I have a number of other space auctions this week (Danbury Mint and Code 3 models), so please visit them. Thanks for looking.
