I won this organ on eBay on Friday 1/21/2005 at 10:30 AM.
The Item number was #3776435546 and the my winning bid was US $3,050.00
The following was part of the original eBay description:
“The organ belonged to a retired minister, my grandfather, who is now in a nursing home. As far as I know, he is the only person besides me who ever owned it - and I know he kept it in excellent condition. I feel bad because it just sits here in my house and no one uses it.”
After I bought this organ, I had a gentleman come to our house to replace some of the lights that were out and go over the organ. I was told that the organ was/is in great shape. Over time, the wood has gathered a few surface scratches, but these are nearly invisible when polished. They are so light that I can’t get a photo of them.
My wife and I are commonly known as snowbirds. So we played the organ seasonally in ’05, ’06, & ’07 and not at all this year. We have two other organs and a small house, so one has to go. As far as I know, this organ is still in great working condition; but I am selling it in “as is” condition because I don’t have the skill to play it well enough to test all the features. I’ve never used the foot keys. But I have played using almost all of the rhythms. This has great sound. And it is a joy to play. Good luck bidding.
Per telephone call on 5/15/08 with Lowery personnel, the wholesale price of this organ is $1500 and the retail in-store price is $5000 to $6000.
