Up for auction is a very rare 1970’s Ludwig Big Beat drum kit in Green Vistalite. The green is by far the rarest of the Vistalite colors, with less than 50 kits total being sold (see Vistalites.com). All these drums are in very good condition, however the floor tom does have one crack. This is at the tone control (see picture), unfortunately very common to these Vistalites. The drums do have the typical small scratches and scuffs that these drums suffer from, but nothing really bad. The badges are very nice also, except for the floor tom, which has been bent, and is lifting somewhat. I could include a replacement badge if the winning bidder wanted to install a new one. The chrome is very good condition with only minor pitting in a few areas. These drums are 100% complete with all correct vintage hardware, including the nice 17” shorter floor tom legs. All three toms have brand new Remo Emperor batter heads. The bass drums hoops have the silver sparkle inlay, and the tom mount post is included in this auction.
Please e-mail me with any questions.
Please take a look at my other auctions, as I will be adding more percussion equipment soon.
I do have this item advertised locally and reserve the right to end the auction early for a local sale.
As with all my auctions I pride myself on accurately describing my items and I believe that my 100% positive feedback speaks for me, so bid with confidence. I’ll go the extra mile to ensure that this is a positive transaction for both parties.
SHIPPING AND HANDLING for this item will be $175; this will include professional packing and insurance to the lower 48 states. I know this seems excessive, but these drums are very difficult to pack safely, and the fuel surcharges these days are ridiculous.
