Hi everyone, and thanks for viewing my auction!
I bought this machine recently from a lady who owns a coffee shop in my neighborhood. She bought a tiny, cheap two group machine to replace this awesome 4 group La Pavoni. Some people just don't understand that a La Pavoni is not a throw-away machine. It's a best of breed, high volume espresso machine that, when maintained, provides decades of superior service. It's a Rolls Royce, not a Kia! This machine was in use at her shop for at least 5 years, and I had a couple of espressos made from it on the day she sold it to me, because I wanted to know if it was any good. It works perfectly from the two groups that are operational. A water softener was in use on this machine, according to the previous owner.
3 good Portafilters are included! See all the pictures! One portafilter has a disk for backflush. Two portafilters have regular perforated stainless baskets for making delicious coffee.
I bought it because I planned on getting it serviced and opening my own coffee shop, but family matters have put that idea on hold for now. So, I'm selling the machine, as is, where is (outside Birmingham Alabama) to the highest bidder.
It's a really amazing machine that needs to be serviced to operate at 100%.
Two of the group heads work, and two are not working. I don't know why the two group heads are not working - but it's possibly a couple of bad solenoids. I got a quote from an expert Pavoni technician that it would not cost more than about $600
including parts and $85 / hour labor to get it running in warranty refurbished condition. One steam wand is missing and one steam knob is missing. The two working group heads are on the outside and the two that are not working are the inside ones. It would also need its internal plastic hoses replaced, as the had gotten pretty gunked up.
The previous owner was using this machine every day for several years, and had it serviced yearly. But it still needs to have new plastic lines run, a new power cable (it's safely taped together for now). It's an outstanding machine, and a standard overhaul will bring it back to 100%. But, as is, it's working great with just the two groups working.
I know that there will be a lot of questions about this machine, so I'll make it easy for serious bidders to contact me immediately with questions. Just call me on my cell phone at
301-803-8133 anytime between 8-8 Central time and I'll do my best to answer your questions or find out an answer for you.
Shipping must be arranged and carried out by the purchaser. There are freight services like U-ship which can provide estimates and bid out your shipping. Or you can pick up the machine yourself here outside beautiful Birmingham, Alabama. It's been in my garage for just one week now since I bought it on 10/28/09. If you arrange LTL freight service, you are responsable for letting them and me know how you want this 300 pound machine crated & shipped. It could be shipped without being palletized ( I think) but you, the buyer will need to arrange everything concerning pickup and shipping from my residential address (any trucks can easily access the garage where it's being stored).
Again, please make sure you have your shipping arranged yourself, or you may pick up the item from me. Payment must be received within 3 business days of the auction's end. I will be available by phone if you have questions before the auction ends. 301-803-8133As far as payment is concerned, I will accept Paypal, certified check, bank wire, cash or escrow.com.
Someone out there will get many years of great drinks out of this machine, so if you want to get a
$9000 machine for a lot less than that, and can handle doing the maintenance on it, then this machine may be the one for you. Thanks for checking out my listing!
