I'm not certain of it's age but I was told by a collector that it is Victorian...It looks like a great weapon to me! I know very little about hat pins, but this one seems to be in very good condition. The filigre is very lovely. I think it could be cleaned up to make it shiny again, but I'll leave that to someone who knows what their doing... I see no markings or damage and I'm not certain what the gold metal is...
I recently received this information about this pin from another seller who is quite knowledgeable: Presented is a nice, gold filled hat pin made in America during the first quarter of the 1900s, most likely around 1910. The top of this piece is done in a lovely openwork form and the top has a flat surface, perfect for a monogram.
