This auction is for an antique (ca.1900) and extremely rare and fine Sterling silver large gravy ladle by Wallace Silversmiths in their early and extremely beautiful ROSE pattern of 1888. Ladle is crafted from very heavy gauge Sterling silver (weight on my postal scales is 2 5/8 ounces of the precious alloy) and measures 7 1/2" long x 2 3/4" wide (width of bowl). Condition is very good, sports the period monogram of the letter S in elaborate scroll. Shows light surface scratches and tarnish commensurate with age and gentle age. Back of handle is marked with the date of patent, early manufacturer's trademark and Sterling. Offered for a low opening bid and no reserve. Please note similar pieces retail for $100.00+ when found in other venues. Thank you. I HAVE TRIED TO DESCRIBE CONDITION OF ITEM AS DETAILED AND ACCURATE AS POSSIBLE. SOMETIMES HUMAN ERRORS OCCUR AND I ENCOURAGE YOU TO CONTACT ME WITH ANY QUESTIONS YOU MIGHT HAVE REGARDING ANY OF MY AUCTIONS. I WILL APPRECIATE PAYMENT TO BE SENT NO LATER THAN 10 BUSINESS DAYS AFTER THE END OF AN AUCTION; OTHERWISE IT WILL BE MY PREROGATIVE TO RE-LIST ITEM OR DISPOSE OF IT TO THE BEST OF MY INTEREST. I WILL REFUND YOUR MONEY IN THOSE CASES AN ITEM HAS UNWILLINGLY BEEN MISREPRESENTED AND PROVIDED ITEM IS SENT BACK TO ME IN THE SAME CONDITION I MAILED IT NOT LATER THAN 7 BUSINESS DAYS FROM THE DATE OF RECEIPT. CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO PAY CORRESPONDING TAX ON THEIR PURCHASES. IF AT THE END OF THIS TRANSACTION YOU ARE PLEASED WITH IT YOUR POSITIVE FEEDBACK WILL BE GREATLY APPRECIATED AND RETURNED IN KINDNESS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING.
